CENTRO DE BIENESTAR EN BUDAPEST

La forma del edificio deriva de su uso: un centro de bienestar con una serie de piscinas y salas de fitness. Un gran corredor guia al usuario a través del centro , que crece cuando lo necesita, no solo en planta, sino también en sección. De esta forma, cinco piezas iguales se mueven y giran a través de una línea, que será ese gran corredor.

 

Debido a la necesidad de cubrir grandes luces se optó por la madera laminada para la estructura del mismo, no sólo por sus grandes cualidades estéticas, sino también por su alta resistencia a los cloruros, evitando así la necesidad de un mantenimiento contínuo de la estructura. El revestimiento, de acero cortén, le da al conjunto, la singularidad que precisa.

The shape of the building comes from its use: a Wellness Centre with a series of pools and fitness rooms.  A long corridor leads its users through it growing when needed, not only in plan but also in section. This way, five equal pieces not only in plan, but also in shape, are moved and turned through a line, which will be the corridor that leads the user through the whole building. 

 

On the account of avoiding pillars big spans are to be covered, being a good choice laminated timber, not only regarding to  its exceptional aesthetical qualities, but also because of its high resistance against chlorine, preventing  the structure from being kept up frecuently.
