PUENTE PEATONAL EN LA RUTA DEL CARES

BRIDGE ON CARES ROUTE

The Cares river route follows the namesake gorge over 12km through Picos de Europa National Park, in Spain, and is one of the most breathtaking trekking trails that can be done in Europe.

The starting point of the project for a new bridge, was a reflexion of the impact of the feelings  this trail made on the trekker. Out of all of them the one we found most interesting was the fear heights can impose on oneself. We wanted to potenciate this feeling but had to approach it with a sense of security, which is fundamental in such a situation. We finally resolved it in two different ways: we chose a structure made of 2cm diameter corrugated bars that would allow us to see through them and promoted the feeling we were looking for . After that, in a more abstract way, we decided to show the sensation of stability with the main structure being gripped strongly into the mountains.
